Community Guidlines and Harassment Policy:SciCommCamp is dedicated to providing a safe, hospitable, and productive environment for everyone present, regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability, physical appearance, or gender. It’s important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. Accordingly, SciCommCamp prohibits intimidating, threatening, or harassing conduct during our conference. This policy applies to speakers, staff, volunteers, attendees, and any users of any SciCommCamp website. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the retreat, or removed from the website, at the discretion of SciCommCamp directors.
Harassment of participants will not be tolerated in any form. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to ethnicity, religion, disability, physical appearance, gender, or sexual orientation, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant or exhibitor engages in harassing behavior, SciCommCamp directors will take any action they deem appropriate, including but not limited to a simple warning to expulsion from an event without a refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the SciCommCamp staff immediately in person or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We value your attendance, and want to make all SciCommCamp experiences as productive and stimulating as possible.
